Q.
|
Where did you come up with the name iNetCi? |
| A. |
iNetCi,
pronounced EYE-NET-SEE-EYE, stands for Internet
Carroll Iowa.
We chose this because it says exactly what we are - Internet for
Carroll, Iowa. We don't serve and share your connection with
other towns, which is one of the reasons our service is so much
faster. We shortened it to iNetCi because we figured
nobody would want yourname@internetcarrolliowa.net as an
email address. |
|
Q.
|
How do I change my password? |
| A. |
There
is a "Change Your Password" link toward the top-right part
of this page. Click that link and then follow the instructions
on the page. |
|
Q.
|
If I'm away from home and using a different computer, can I still
check my email? |
| A. |
Yes.
You can access your email from anywhere. As long as you know
your email address and password, all you need is a web browser and a
connection to the Internet. Go to http://mail.inetci.net
and follow the instructions. Keep in mind that where it asks
for your username, in this case you need to enter your full email
address. |

Q.
|
I switched to iNetCi Internet because I was always getting
disconnected from my old provider. But it's still happening,
is there anything I can do? |

there is, sometimes there isn't. We've put together a page
explaining what can and can't be done to solve these problems: click
here. |
|
Q.
|
What does it cost to sign-up for iNetCi Internet? |
| A. |
Nothing.
There are currently no sign-up fees or up-front costs at all.
AND there is no obligation. If you decide that it's not for
you, we'll gladly disconnect you. |
|
Q.
|
Do I have to cancel service with my current provider in order to try
iNetCi? |
| A. |
No.
You can give iNetCi a try without canceling your current
service. Only when you are satisfied that you're staying with
iNetCi will you want to cancel service with your current
provider. In fact, when many people switch, they keep their
old provider for a short time to make sure they don't miss any email
messages sent to their old address before they can let everyone know
that they switched. |
|
Q.
|
Will my email address ever change? |
| A. |
No.
Other providers sometimes make you change your email address.
We understand that this is a big inconvenience, and sometimes a big
expense. Our promise to you is that once you change to an
iNetCi.net email address, even if we someday change our name, you'll
still always be able to keep the same email address. |
|
Q.
|
What's with all this V.92 stuff? Do I have to have a special
modem to get faster Internet service? |
| A. |
V.92 is
the newest modem communication protocol. Basically, it's the
way your modem talks to our equipment. V.92 adds some new
features and capabilities, and to use those new features you need a
modem that supports it. However, even if you don't have a
"V.92 modem", you can still get faster Internet service
when switching to iNetCi Internet Service. Click
here for a page that explains why. |
|
Q.
|
I was considering switching to iNetCi Internet, but my current
Internet provider emailed me and they say that it's not possible to
get faster dial-up Internet Service. Is that true? |
| A. |
No.
Most people who have already switched to iNetCi will tell you that
it is faster. A recent email sent by another provider to their
users was completely inaccurate. For the truth about our
"High-Speed Dial-Up" Internet Service, click
